The Seeker approaches the Master meekly and with deep disappointment – almost shame, “Master, I’m trying my best, but -“
And he explains to the Master his devastating difficulties with his practice.
The Master listens intently and responds, “Dear Seeker, do you not know that your practice is that of a Master? Your practice has surpassed even my own – perhaps of any Master that has been before. I am full of joy for you.”
Tears of gratitude well in the Seeker’s eyes. He moves from sadness to elation. He is finally fulfilled. After constant disappointment he has reached the pinnacle of his practice – everything that he has been hoping for and expecting.
The Seeker stands in ecstatic silence, taking in this beautiful overwhelming moment in the presence of the Master. ”I practised and I practised, but I never thought this day would come – and it is here.”
“Yes – and isn’t it interesting that I had to inform you? That my opinion is what has confirmed your mastery? That has made you swell as you have? That has brought you from despair to elation?”
